Walt’s Waltz is an Upstate South Carolina based non-profit organization with regional, national, and international reach. Walt’s Waltz ends the stigma that surrounds those with mental health struggles through professionally led educational programs, integration of the performing and visual arts, and creation of Walt’s Waltz Stigma-Free Zones, but we don’t stop there. With a goal to further reduce suffering and suicides, Walt’s Waltz advocates for equitable funding including cutting-edge research in biomarkers for more targeted advancements toward novel curative therapies as we see with physical conditions.
This position is 100% remote, Full-time and Part-time options for professional development, practical experience through project-based learning, and possible academic credit: check with your university about credit requirements.
Note: As a remote worker for student course credit, field hours, or practicum hours students will meet with their supervisor weekly. Additionally, there will be mandatory daily meetings with other team members to discuss goals and initiatives. Interns will keep a daily log of their work. Evaluations will be conducted throughout placement.
(Macro Level) Social Worker – Walt’s Waltz mission is to be a compass and a megaphone for mental health support, education, and change. Intern will be part of Walt’s Watz’s organizing community efforts and leading community development initiatives including the development of Walt’s Waltz Stigma-Free Environments and expand our Mental Health Literacy programs.

Intern Responsibilities Include:
- Brainstorm with Walt’s Waltz team and adhere to our mission
- Attend weekly meetings and share vision
- Collaborate with teammates
- Create surveys and assist with gathering data
- Apply knowledge and social work skills in dealing with the wide range of social,
emotional and cultural issues
- Demonstrates effective organizational, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Performs such other tasks as may, from time to time, be assigned
This position will present additional (optional) opportunities including face to face and zoom meetings with potential donors/clients, attend Walt’s Waltz community events, co-present workshops in-person, and brainstorm with our team in the development of innovative campaigns that will attract funders/clients.
