For Employers from Penn Career Services

For Employers, from Penn Career Services

The University of Pennsylvania is excited to share with you our Spring Employers Newsletter. Here, you can find valuable information and resources for recruitment during the Spring 2023 semester. For more information, please reach out to our Employer Relations manager, Debra Koita.

Update from Executive Director, Dr. Barbara Hewitt

“It was wonderful to welcome employers back to campus this fall, and we were thrilled to have very strong attendance at both our in-person and virtual career fairs! Our students have told us how much they appreciate these interactions with you and the opportunity to learn about post-graduate jobs and internships. It was also an exciting semester on campus as Penn inaugurated Liz Magill as our ninth president; Wharton announced a new ESG Initiative providing a collaborative home to explore areas such as climate, impact investing, and business ethics; and Penn is set to soon launch clinical trials for a new MRNA vaccine to fight 20 subtypes of influenza! Go Quakers!”

Register Now for Spring 2023 In-Person or Virtual Career Fairs via Handshake

Penn is offering several career fairs this Spring that will include in-person options on campus and virtual options through the Handshake Virtual Career Fair platform. Through Handshake, you can schedule one-on-one video chats with students (both prescheduled and “day of”), as well as group sessions. We urge employers to register as soon as possible to ensure maximum visibility to students. Registering for in-person events early is advised, as we have a limited number of tables available.

Virtual and In-Person On-Campus Interviews

Employers can submit requests now for virtual or in-person interviews in the Spring 2023 semester. Please review the Recruiting Deadlines Calendar for available interview dates. We encourage employers who prefer to interview students virtually to use Handshake to manage your interview schedules, as this provides maximum visibility to students. If you prefer to manage your own interview schedule, please post your job or internship to Handshake without attaching an interview schedule. There are no fees associated with interview schedules.

Virtual and In-Person Employer Information Sessions

Employers can return to campus in-person to conduct information sessions or coffee chats this Spring. We promote information sessions in our student opt-in newsletters. There are no room or processing fees associated with information sessions held in classrooms by Career Services. If you choose to conduct your interviews and/or information sessions at the Inn at Penn Hotel, the Sheraton Hotel or Perelman Quad in Houston Hall, there will be a room fee charged by those venues.

Resources for Recruiting

The Career Services office often receives requests for data on career outcomes and salary information of our recent graduates. You can read reports on post-graduate and summer outcomes on our website. We offer these reports as a helpful resource, allowing employers to see details on various academic programs and average salary by schools and industries.
