Update on February 5th – registration for the fairs is now closed. If you are an employer interested in the fairs, please email Dianne Hull (dhull@upenn.edu) in Career Services.

Employers have TWO options for connecting with students and alumni in 2024 – please choose the fair that best meets your recruitment needs.
***If you want to participate in both the in-person and virtual fair, you will need to register for each separately.***

  • In-person, Thursday, February 8, 2024
  • Virtual, Tuesday, February 13, 2024

These annual spring semester career fairs are open to employers interested in connecting with over 400 Design graduate students representing the architecture, landscape architecture, city and regional planning, historic preservation, real estate, spatial analytics, and fine arts programs. The fair is an excellent way for firms and organizations to make their work known and recruit for available full- and part-time positions, as well as summer internship opportunities.   Lunch is included for employers at the in-person fair, and employers are welcome to connect with Weitzman School of Design faculty and staff at a post-fair happy hour in Meyerson Hall.

Students and alumni in the following industries and career fields will be in attendance:

  • Architecture
  • City and Urban Planning
  • Historic Preservation
  • Fine Arts
  • Integrated Product Design
  • Environmental Building Design
  • Urban and Spatial Analytics

Participate in the career fair to enjoy these featured advantages:

  • ACCESS TOP TALENT: Penn students are driven and engaged, and bring with them strong skills applicable to careers in design and planning fields.
  • ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN A PRESENCE AT PENN: Build a recruiting pipeline for future design candidates even if you currently don’t have opportunities
  • ACCESS RESUME BOOKS for students interested in internships and full-time positions. We will create resume books for this year’s event, broken down by degree and whether students are seeking internships or full-time opportunities. Employers will receive a link to resumes from students registered for this career fair one week prior to the event. Employers may reach out and connect with students that they are particularly interested in talking to, and arrange to meet before the career fair day or after the fair.
  • ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEWS: Please indicate during the registration process whether you would be interested in our on-campus interviewing suite to interview students on another day before or after the career fair.  There is no cost for reserving this space: https://careerservices.upenn.edu/engage-on-campus/on-campus-interviewing/.

What is the format?

We are excited to be offering both in-person and virtual versions of the Design Career Fair this year. For the in-person fair, registration includes lunch for 3 attendees and each registered employer will have a 6-foot table for handouts, information, and displays, as well as a sign identifying the organization. Students will speak to employers at the tables.

For the virtual fair, employers will use the Handshake platform to schedule 1:1 and groups sessions with students. For more information on the Handshake virtual career fair experiences, please visit: Virtual Fairs in Handshake: A Guide for Employers.

Employers with specific job opportunities can identify these during the registration process by uploading positions to Handshake, and then easily linking to these during the registration process.

Registration Fees and Deadlines

The standard registration fee for either fair is $100 per organization (we offer $75 for nonprofit/government organizations and Penn affiliates) which will be payable by credit card or check.

We encourage employers to register by January 12th as space is limited for the in-person fairTo receive a full refund, employers must cancel before Monday, February 5th for the in-person fair and by Thursday, February 8th for the virtual fair.
