Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships (CURF)

Many Penn students come to Penn wanting to “do research”, but figuring out what that means and how to go about it can be daunting. CURF is here to help you figure out what steps you need to take to find a rewarding research experience, and to help you take the work you are currently involved with to the next level. Take a look through the information they have curated on their site–the steps below are a general guide, but people often follow different paths through. They are happy to help you at any step, or if you’re forging your own way!

  1. Learn more about who, what, where, and why undergraduates do research.
  2. Get advice from people who can help.
  3. Find a faculty advisor.
  4. Investigate funding or academic credit options.
